From prompt
to something real.

Keep the conversation, the code and the result together. Then put the result to work.

Build the change.

Open a project folder or start from a template. Ask your chosen coding agent for the first useful change.

Review the result.

Read the files, the diff and the test output beside your live app. Keep the tools and framework you already use.

Ship it.

Review the release, then send it to a store or host, or invite one tester to the running app. Nothing is uploaded until you confirm.

The whole studio.
In your pocket.

The phone is not a companion view. It opens the same host, the same conversation and the same running app as your desktop.

Build

Start an agent, queue a follow-up, dictate a request or attach a screenshot.

Review

Read the diff, scan the test output and open the live app to try it with your thumb.

Ship

Open Publish, fill in what is missing and send the release. The host brings the build tools.

Extend

Add a plugin, install an extension or connect a tool. It lands in the same workspace.

Built for a first project.Available now

You do not need a developer setup to start. Lyre walks you through the tools you need, keeps the workspace simple, and opens up as you learn.

  • Start with free AI. One prompt installs Node.js, npm and OpenCode into Lyre’s private storage, so you can build before you have a provider or API key. Lyre asks first.
  • Install agent tools in one step. Claude Code, Codex, Copilot and Pi install on the computer you choose, then Lyre guides you through sign-in.
  • Run models on your own computer. Find Ollama and llama.cpp servers, add one, and open the setup guide when you need help.
  • Help is built in. A guided walkthrough is always in Settings, under Support, then About.
  • Start Simplified, switch to Full later. Simplified keeps to a project, a chat and a live preview. Switch to Full when you want more tools. Your projects, drafts and running work carry over.

Keep the work moving.Early access

Set the order for accounts and keys you own or are authorized to use. When one reaches a usage or rate limit, Lyre can continue the same request on the next eligible account. Each account retains its own terms, quotas and billing. Provider rules may limit account sharing, rotation or automatic switching, so use only accounts and keys you are permitted to use this way; you are responsible for complying with each provider’s terms. Model lending remains a separate setting.

Orchestrate plans one task across the computers you have paired. Review the assignments before dispatch. Each computer keeps its own workspace, models and permissions. Multitask delegates to helper agents on a single machine.

Chords (early access). A Chords bot is a background assistant that keeps working on your computer after you stop typing. Give it a standing task, such as a morning summary of your repo, and choose its model, permissions and schedule. It asks before doing anything you have not approved, so you can reply from your phone or desktop. Keep that computer awake and online.

Private on purpose. On the same Wi-Fi, a paired device connects straight to the host, so nothing has to pass through our servers. Away from home, the session travels through an end-to-end encrypted relay, and revoking a device ends its session. Lyre is an app on your computer, not a page you sign into: close this site and the work keeps running. You can also share one running app with a tester. App-only access never opens your source, agents, terminals or desktop. How access works · Sharing and permissions

Release status

Built by Jonathan Bakhit

Lyre is built by one person: a Johns Hopkins graduate (double major, triple minor) who is now pursuing a master’s degree in AI at Georgia Tech. Why I am building Lyre

Before you start.

Read the guides
Do I need to know how to code?

You can start with a plain-language description and ask a coding assistant to help you build. Begin with one small feature, review its proposed changes, and test the result. Our guides explain the setup; you stay in control of what runs on your computer.

Can I bring a website or an existing project?

Yes. Lyre works with supported websites, web apps, and browser-based tools, including React, Vite, Next.js, Expo-web, and Capacitor web projects. Open an existing project folder and keep working with its files.

Do I have to use a particular AI tool?

No. Choose a supported CLI provider or local model, or edit your files directly. Your project stays editable outside Lyre. Provider accounts, billing, and hardware requirements depend on your choice.

Can I use Lyre without a Lyre account?

Yes for local work. Open projects and use supported local models or your own provider keys on the computer. Pairing a device and connecting over your own network also does not require a Lyre cloud account. Cloud features, relay access, hosted services and app-store purchases have their own account requirements, and a cloud AI provider still receives the prompts and context you send it.

Does using Lyre send my project through your servers?

Not for local work or direct LAN connections. Your project stays on the host computer. Away from your network, an end-to-end encrypted relay carries the session without hosting your project. A cloud AI provider you choose still receives the prompts and relevant project context it needs under its own terms.

Can I test my project away from my desk?

Yes. Free includes unlimited local and LAN viewing, plus 30 minutes per UTC month shared across remote app previews and remote desktop on all your devices. Sign in on the host to use the remote allowance. Six simultaneous sessions use all 30 minutes in five minutes. Away from your local network, preview and interact with your apps through Lyre’s encrypted relay within your account’s application relay allowance. Your host computer still runs the project, so it needs to stay awake, online, and running Lyre. Your existing app permissions still apply.

Does my computer need to stay on?

Yes. Your computer runs the project, so keep it awake and Lyre open while you use a connected screen.

What can someone see when I share an app?

App-only sharing gives a tester or client access to that one running app. They do not get your agents, source files, terminals, remote desktop or computer settings. You create the invitation yourself, and revoking a device ends its session.

Which platforms does Lyre run on, and what does it cost?

Desktop downloads are currently available for Windows and Apple silicon macOS; Linux builds appear when the current release includes one. Check Downloads and the installation guide for the latest available release. Android is available on Google Play in Australia, Canada, New Zealand and the United States, while the iOS client needs a supplied compatible build. The browser client works with a host computer running the desktop app. Lyre is free for local use; Lyre Pro is $15 per month and Lyre AI is $100 per month. AI provider usage is billed by the provider you choose.

Do I need Pro to work remotely?

No. Remote connections, code editing, agent conversations, project startup, and remote live app previews are included on Free. Remote previews use your account’s application relay allowance. Free also includes five minutes of cloud transcription per day. Pro removes the Free viewing time limit and adds more capacity, more cloud transcription, and hosted video fallback. AI provider charges are separate.

Can I get a discount for inviting a friend?

Every account has a referral code in the desktop app's account settings. A friend who uses it pays $5 less for their first paid month, and once that payment clears you get the same amount in account credit. One code applies per account, codes do not stack, and the discount applies to the desktop checkout; app-store purchases are separate.
