Connect a coding agent

Set up a supported coding provider on the computer running Lyre.

Pick an agent

An agent is the AI that reads and edits your project. Lyre supplies the workspace; each agent uses its own account or model. You can connect several and choose per conversation.

Want to work from another screen? Follow Claude Code from your phone or Codex from your phone after connecting the provider on your computer.

Agent Good if you…
Claude Code use an Anthropic account or API key
Codex use an OpenAI account or API key
GitHub Copilot use a Copilot account
OpenCode want multiple model sources or a local model
Pi / Oh My Pi want their host tools and supported provider configuration
Antigravity want a community ACP connector for Antigravity (Google kernel and sign-in required)
Muse Code run Meta’s terminal coding agent with your existing Muse installation
Lyre AI have an eligible Lyre account and want managed model access without a personal provider key

Agent accounts, subscriptions and usage limits are separate from Lyre.

Connect it

  1. Open the agent list

Go to SettingsAI & agents. The Connections tab lists every agent Lyre supports and whether it’s ready.

  2. Install if needed

If an agent isn’t installed, Lyre offers to set it up. On desktop, choose Install and continue; nothing is installed until you do.

  3. Sign in or add a key

Follow the agent’s sign-in, or add its API key. Keys stay on your computer.

  4. Say hello

Open a project, pick the agent in the chat box, and ask something read-only:

What does this project do? Don't change any files.
It worked when

you get a reply about your project. Now you can ask for changes.

Want free, private AI?

Run a model on your own computer with Ollama or LM Studio and use it through OpenCode. Follow the local-model guide →

More than one key, or choosing models

You can add several named keys to one provider and choose which models appear in the picker. See Providers, keys and routing.

Use the intended account

Connections can retain supported named keys and native sign-in profiles. Choose the provider account and model you intend to use; review its readiness and usage status before creating work. Provider-specific account switching and resume capabilities determine how an existing conversation can continue.

Have several accounts? Connect them and set automatic fallback order, including which connections participate and how the host controls continuation.

Agent software manages installed tools, profiles and supported updates. Usage shows available account reports. Signing into Lyre and signing into a coding provider are separate actions.

If it doesn’t work

The agent shows “Not installed”
Use Install and continue, or install it from its official site, then reopen AI & agents.
Requests are refused after connecting
Check the provider account’s quota, subscription and sign-in.
No models in the picker
The agent may still be loading its model list. For local models, make sure the runner is running.
