Build your first project

Install Lyre, connect an agent, ask for a small app, and try it live on your computer and phone.

Before you start

What you’ll need
  • Lyre installed and open. Install it →
  • One coding agent connected, such as Claude Code, Codex or a free local model. Connect one →
  • An empty folder for your first project.
  • Optional: your phone with the Lyre app, on the same Wi-Fi.

1 · Open a folder in Lyre

  1. Add the project

In Lyre, choose Add project and pick your empty folder. Lyre shows it in your Library.

  2. Open a conversation

Open the project and its conversation. Check the agent and model shown in the chat box.

2 · Describe one useful thing

Say what a person should be able to do, not which technology to use. Ask for a plan first.

Make a simple checklist web page for opening our café.
I want to add tasks, tick them off, and see what's left.
Explain your plan before changing anything, and make it work on a phone.
Tip

Read the plan before saying yes. If a step or command is unclear, ask what it does. You stay in control of every change.

3 · Run it and try it

  1. Start the app

Choose Open app in the workspace. Lyre starts your project and opens its interactive preview. Use the return control to get back to the conversation.

The first time, Lyre may ask how to start the app. See start commands by app type.

  2. Click around

Add a task, tick it off, resize the preview. This is the real app running on your computer.

  3. Review what changed

Open Changes to read exactly which files the agent edited. Follow reviewing files and diffs before staging or committing. See working with an agent.

4 · Try it on your phone

Pair your phone once, then open the same project from it: follow the agent, try the app with your fingers, and ask for changes while you’re away from your desk.

Pair your phone →

5 · Improve it, one step at a time

Ask for one improvement at a time, try it, then ask for the next.

Add a "Clear finished tasks" button and keep the list after I refresh the page.
You did it when

your change shows up in the live preview and works the way you described. That’s the whole Lyre loop: ask, review, try.

Next: choose how the agent works or share the app with someone.
